Mariano Navone

Navone is a steady right-handed baseliner whose game leans on patience and court positioning. He would rather extend rallies than strike early winners, using a heavy topspin forehand to load up the point and force errors. That consistency is a large part of why he has racked up ten career titles and secured a career-high ranking of 48, with 1065 points and a solid 56 percent win rate currently. Though only 25, he has already shown he can grind through long haul matches. Across 25 matches this season, he has 14 wins against 11 losses, a record that flags his reliability on all surfaces.

The Argentine's approach depends on feel for angles and the physical ability to move his opponent side to side. Without a huge serve, he beats players by varying depth and spin until broken down. It is a demanding, intelligent brand of footwork-first tennis. After turning 25 we can check on turnover trends. His live stats suggest a defensively sound game that often forces early contact with it going unused. The losses rarely come easy against him.
