Daria Kasatkina

Daria Kasatkina, 29, has drifted to 61st in the WTA rankings with 1,033 points, a notable slide for a player who once sat comfortably inside the top 10. Her eight career titles still speak to a steady, crafty baseline game, but her current season record of 9 wins against 7 losses underscores a holding pattern rather than a resurgence. At this stage, the Australian's right-handed consistency remains her anchor, yet the tour's younger power hitters increasingly test her margins.

The question for Kasatkina now is whether she can reverse the slow decline that follows most players past their mid-20s. With her ranking outside the seeds, early draws will keep bringing stiff tests, and her build-up of points hinges on converting those tight three-set battles into wins. Another top-20 return is possible if she sharpens her returns, but the data suggests the next 18 months will decide whether she closes her prime as a contender or a dangerous floater.
