About Ben
Ben Shelton enters this stretch at a career-high No. 9 in the ATP rankings, backed by 3,480 points. The 23-year-old lefty from the USA has won two career titles and holds a 32-22 season mark, a 60 percent win rate that feels slightly skittish for a player of his power.
The numbers hint at a floor that has risen even if the ceiling hasn't cracked yet this year. Shelton remains an explosive, front-foot presence from the back of the court, and the tally says his consistency must sharpen if he is to defend this spot, particularly with points spread thin between swingers inside the top 12.
